Blarney Castle & Kinsale Private Tour Itinerary

Your private driver-guide will meet you at your Cork accommodation before beginning the short journey towards Blarney.
This tour combines time at one of Ireland’s most visited castles with a slower afternoon in Kinsale, giving you a mix of history, scenery, and time to explore.
Blarney Castle & Grounds

Start the day at Blarney Castle, one of Ireland’s most recognized landmarks.
Set within extensive grounds, the castle dates back to the medieval period and is best known for the Blarney Stone, said to grant the gift of eloquence to those who kiss it. You’ll have time to explore the castle, climb the narrow stairways to the top, and walk along the battlements.
Beyond the castle itself, your guide will lead you through the surrounding gardens, with pathways, wooded areas, and features such as the Rock Close adding to the setting.
Blarney Village

After visiting the castle, spend a short time in Blarney Village.
Located just outside the castle grounds, the village has a selection of shops offering Irish crafts, gifts, and local products. It’s a relaxed stop and gives you a chance to see the area beyond the main attraction.
Scenic Drive to Kinsale

Continue south towards Kinsale, traveling through the Cork countryside.
This part of the journey gives you a sense of the wider region, with farmland, small villages, and coastal approaches. Your driver-guide will share insight into Cork’s rural life and its long-standing connection to trade and the sea.
Kinsale Town

Arrive in Kinsale, one of Cork’s most popular coastal towns.
Set around a natural harbor, Kinsale is known for its narrow streets, colorful buildings, and strong food culture. You’ll have time to walk through the town, explore the harbourfront, and stop for lunch if you wish.
It’s a different pace to the morning, with more time to move around freely and take in the setting.
Charles Fort

Finish with a visit to Charles Fort, located just outside Kinsale.
This 17th-century star-shaped fort overlooks the harbor and played an important role in Ireland’s military history. Walk along the walls and take in the views back towards Kinsale and out to sea, while your guide explains the fort’s background and its place in Irish history.
Drop Off at Your Cork Accommodation
At the end of your private tour, your driver-guide will return you to your Cork accommodation.
If you would like to continue your evening, your guide can recommend restaurants in Cork or Kinsale, depending on your plans.
